Po četných odkladech, které jsou spíš pravidlem, se Junior 9 začal prodávat 7.12.2004, tři dny před ohlášeným termínem.
Zdá se, že nový program bude mít vylepšenou kopírovací ochranu, mluví se opět o pravidelném tankování každých 30 dní.

After some delay Junior 9 is out.
It seems the new Junior will have some new copy protection - the tanking will be needed every 30 days.

Česká verze je u EVCOMP k dispozici od pátku 17.12.2004.

I never thought I would be saying this but Junior 9 has been manhandling Shredder 8.
This is the second 6 game mini match ending with the same score game in 60'' books Junior9, Shredder8 64m hash, tb 3,4,some5

Nejdou ukládat partie
Cannot save games

V GUI je chyba která neumožní uložit partii.
Máte-li jiný program rodiny F8, je snad lepší pro začátek nainstalovat jen motor.
Nicméně update je k dispiozici od 17.12. 2004.
Na www.playchess.com/updates/support/gui8.iup
Dostanete soubor GUI8.iup, který má kolem 8M:
Nakopíruje se do adresáře C:\Program Files\ChessBase\ChessProgram8 a spustí program IUpgrade.exe.

Patch for the GUI that comes with Junior9 download from www.playchess.com/updates/support/gui8.iup
store the GUI8.iup file to the folder C:\Program Files\ChessBase\ChessProgram8.
Afterwards run the program IUpgrade.exe from that folder in order to install the upgrade.

Při testech se zjistila závažná skutečnost, že bez ohledu na nastavení v parametrech motoru maže Junior 9 své hash tabulky po každém tahu.
To je další poměrně závažná chyba.
Stáhnete-li nový patch z níže uvedeného odkazu, dostanete nejen opravené rozhraní, ale i motor verze 9.0.2 s opravenou chybou.
CSS startuje z tohoto důvodu nové kolo testů, kde očekává další růst síly Juniora 9.

If you download the last patch, you will get Junior 9.0.2 and the last GUI.
The original engine had a serious bug - it did clear hash after every move. The new version is much stronger - CSS starts a new tests.
